Event Details

WHAT: The 2018 She's A Runner Girl Program will conclude this year with The First Annual Purple 5K Run. The She's A Runner Girl Program is a fun, supportive, and active curriculum-based program that combines running and confidence building activities for lifelong healthy living. The Purple 5K Run is a 3.1 mile course throughout the UW campus. It is intended to be a fun community event and help sustain the She's A Runner Girl Program, keep our participation fee low ($20 for a 6 week course) and allow even more scholarships to be offered in the future.

WHO: 2018 Runner Girl participants will be automatically entered into the race, but familes, past runner girls, and community members are all welcome.

WHEN: Saturday, May 5

The Race will start at 9:00 am.

Race packet pick-up and day of registration will start at 8:00 am.

The Awards Ceremony will start at 10:00 am.

WHERE: The course will start and end outside of the University of Wyoming Field House (Indoor Track) located to the west of War Memorial. Please park in the War Memorial parking lot.

ENTRY FEE:

Runner Girls in the 2018 Program will automatically be signed up for the run.

$10 - Current Runner Girl Family Members and Past Runner Girls and Family Members and Coaches

$15 - Community Members

$25 - Same Day Registration

AWARDS: Awards will be give to the top 3 finishers (M/F) in each of these categories

1st grade and under

2nd grade

3rd grade

4th grade

5th grade

6th grade

7th-12th grade

Out of high school and up

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: The Purple Run has its name because purple is the signature color of The She's a Runner Girl program. There will be some purple surprises along the course! The entry fee to this race doesn't only inclde a organized 5K run but also a neck gator, water, awards, and lite snacks.

PLEASE, NO DOGS: While we love our dogs, this event is "no dogs allowed" event. It is a safety issue given the number of young children and the venue. Thank you for understanding.

WAIVER: I know that running and volunteering to work in club events are potentially hazardous activities. I should not enter and run in club activities unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to complete the run safely. I assume all risks associated with running and volunteering to work in club events including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and/or humidity, the conditions of the road and traffic on the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your acceptance of my application for membership, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Road Runners Club of America, the American Association of Running Clubs, the High Plains Harriers Inc., University of Wyoming, and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in club activities even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in the waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other records of these events for any legitimate purpose. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, and roller skates/blades are not allowed in the events and I will abide by this guideline. I hereby declare that my physical condition is adequate to participate in the She's A Runner Girl six-week program and the Purple 5K Run. I, the undersigned, waive any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against the High Plains Harriers, the Road Runners Club of America, the University of Wyoming and their representatives for any injuries suffered by her in said event.
