The University of Wyoming


The main campus for the University of Wyoming is located in Laramie, Wyoming. Laramie is located in the southeastern corner of the state, approximately an hour away from Cheyenne, WY and two hours from Denver, CO. The university is the only four-year bachelor- and graduate-degree educational institution. The picturesque location of the University of Wyoming makes it the perfect place for students seeking outdoor activities and an inspirational environment.

There are approximately twelve thousand students enrolled at the University of Wyoming, with an almost equal ratio of men and women. Nearly ninety-six percent of applicants are admitted to the school, and almost ninety-seven percent of admitted students receive some form of financial aid. Ninety percent of those receiving financial aid are grant recipients.

With a wide range of academic studies, students of the University of Wyoming can find almost any major or minor to suit their needs. Some of the most popular courses of study include Elementary Education, Kinesiology and Exercise Science, Secondary Education, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Psychology, and Nursing. There is also a wide range of athletic teams at the University of Wyoming. Men and women can participate in soccer, track and field, swimming, golf, and tennis. There is also the men’s football team and wrestling, as well as women’s volleyball. The school also offers club sports and intramural athletic activities, if you prefer a slightly less formal athletic activity.
